About the Presenter
Verena von Eicken is a PhD student at the University of York’s Department of Theatre, Film and Television.
She researches contemporary German film (2000-2013 and ongoing), focusing specifically on a new generation of actresses who are associated with the revival of German cinema in the last decade: Nina Hoss, Sandra Hüller. Sibel Kekilli and Diane Kruger.
Before starting her PhD, Verena obtained an MA in Cinema, Television and Society at the University of York in 2009.
